  • Mixed feelings about this. The line up is promising to say the least, since it showcases some of the best alternative electronic music artists of the moment along with Yb70 residents. It kicks off nicely indeed with Hegel in 10 Onnance mode for a metallic, moody piece and follows with a decent, if not too innovative, SR track. Sobchak releases something quite furious, but sounds like chamber music compared to Subskan, who recycles and destructures elements from Repaired. Element Abuse provides one with lovely assembly-line material, while Ebola sprays distortion ahoy in a very unsubtle fashion. Fraktion offers more anvil evil with vocals and a(n annoying) melody, Ripit is as fully powerful as on Zhark (perhaps more), and from there, it goes downhill a little. Kirdec's contribution is fine: destructured breakcore with strange influences; it just does not seem to fit with the preceding too well. Ingler gives an industrial tune that never really takes off and actually suffers from a bizarre mastering, Zotz is partially in non-4x4 operation for a track that sounds very hollow (not to mention the dreadful melody) and La Peste, also very hollow, displays a tune based nearly solely on high percussions, it seems. Even Elektroplasma, after a nice start, sounds flat and plastic-like (not to mention the lack of groove). Iszoloscope is as usual: good synth layers, annoying percussions, with a programming bordering on dodgy trance (off-beat bassline, drumrolls and all). Music for candy-goths. The chants parts are ace, though. Dither gets things back on track a little with a hiss over sluggish, broken rhythm and Imminent closes the ball with an electric breaky piece that seems to explode at every second. It is a little too confused to be greatly efficient, but certainly not bad. A decent compilation, indeed, yet spoilt by four or five weaker tracks in a row.
